The CWCC Evening Series is a number of time trials which run between May and August on a Thursday evening.
It is run according to the rules and regulations of Cycling Time Trials (CTT).
It is a CLOSED event, only open to club members including second claim members.
Signing on will be from 6 pm with first rider off at 6.45 pm. If numbers dictate the start time may be brought forward to accommodate all riders. Late season events will start at 6.30 due to the light. Riders will be informed of any changes necessary.
The events will be run on a circuit that links Seamer, Hutton Rudby and Tame Bridge.
All competitors take part at their own risk, abiding by the Highway Code at all times. If in their judgment it is unsafe to ride or to continue they should not ride/stop.
Cost is £4 per adult ride, £3 per junior ride including CTT levies. Pay on the line.
“Prizes” will be awarded at the end of the season in a number of categories, Ladies' and Gentlemen's scratch and handicap as well as veteran categories. Riders' times over their best six single lap and one two lap event will count.
The double lap events are on 16 May, 6 June, 11 July and 1 August.
The events on 20 June and 27 June will be joint events with Stockton Wheelers. The event on 20 June will be held on the Cleveland Wheelers' Seamer course. The one on 27 June will be held on the Stockton Wheelers' Longnewton A67 course (details to follow).
The two lap events will be on 16 May, 6 June, 11 July and 1 August.
The last event, on 29 August is a one lap Two Up (i.e. a pair of riders riding as a team) fun event which doesn't count towards the competition.
To qualify for a “prize” a rider needs to register. This is free of charge but registered riders will be expected to marshal once over the course of the season. Second claim riders whilst not eligible for prizes are encouraged to register. All results will be sent by email to registered riders.
